Grant awarded by BBC Children in Need

Haven is thrilled announce that we have recently been awarded a three-year grant of £29,787 by BBC Children in Need to deliver support sessions for children and young people who have been affected by domestic abuse. By providing one to one support sessions, the aim of the project is to help the young people to develop coping mechanisms, help them to overcome emotional and physical barriers, and encourage them to build relationships.

Haven's Director, Kerry Albiston, said “We’re delighted to have been awarded with this funding from BBC Children in Need, which means we can support some of the most vulnerable young people in our community for the next three years.”

The funding was made possible following BBC Children in Need's 2019 appeal in November and is part of a total award of £146,340 for projects working with disadvantaged children and young people in Sheffield. Across Sheffield, BBC Children in Need is currently funding 45 projects to a value of more than £3.2million.

Big thanks to BBC Children in Need and to everybody who donated to their appeal.
