Online seminars and events to help parents and carers

Sheffield Parent Hub have released their spring programme of online events for parents and carers.

The seminars and group discussions have been created by professional psychologists, giving information and advice to help manage a range of behaviours and difficulties faced by parents.


These 90 minute talks are free of charge and cover positive parenting techniques which parents and carers can try at home for themselves. Topics for spring include:

  • Sleep support
  • Turning negative behaviour into positive behaviour
  • Raising resilient children
  • Positive parenting

Discussion groups

Aimed at parents and carers looking for something a little more in depth, these 2 hour small group sessions offer practical advice for tackling a specific problem behaviour.

Some of the topics include:

  • Reducing family conflict
  • Bedtime routines
  • Coping with teenagers' emotions
  • Dealing with disobedience

Different languages are covered and interpreter support is available.

Group parenting programmes

The group programmes last 9 to 15 weeks and cover a full range of parenting strategies, with personalised support to help you put them into practice at home. They're aimed at parents and carers who are finding things a bit challenging.

Topics covered include:

  • Positive parenting skills
  • Social, emotional and language development
  • Challenging behaviours
  • Family transition (eg. separation or divorce)
