Update: Closing date extended to Friday 18th June 2021

We are currently looking for a number of volunteers to help deliver our services for children and young people in the Sheffield area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience of working with children, particularly for anyone looking to secure a job in this field. It's also a great way to give something back to your local community.

As a volunteer you'll be a valued part of our team. We offer an in-house training programme before you go on to support children, young people and their families, share their stories, learn about healthy relationships, and build resilience for their future. Due to the nature of our work, volunteering with Haven may include evening and weekend sessions as required.

There are 3 different roles available and we encourage you to carefully read through the information below to learn more about our work. Whether you are interested in one specific area of support or a combination of roles, we'd love to hear from you.

CandYP Support Volunteer

Children and Young People (CandYP) is one of our core programmes, working with both children and their safe parent to reflect on their experiences of domestic abuse. We're looking for volunteers to help prepare resources, complete assessment forms and support our practitioners with session planning and delivery. As a volunteer, you'll learn more about how the project is delivered and may go on to deliver sessions on your own.

Important information

Successful volunteer candidates will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and references.

Whilst volunteering with us you will be exposed to information and experiences relating to domestic abuse. Safeguarding both you and our clients from additional trauma is our priority. With regards to this we must ask you to let us know if you have had any experience of domestic abuse either in the past or currently, and if you have received support around this. Please note that this will not necessarily prevent you from volunteering with Haven.
