Safer sleep week from The Lullaby Trust

UK charity, The Lullaby Trust, raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and provides expert advice on safer baby sleep, along with specialist support for bereaved families.

Between the 15th - 21st March 2021, they're running a campaign called 'Safer sleep week' to raise awareness of sudden infant death syndrome and share safer sleep advice to reduce the risk of it occurring. Their 2021 campaign is specifically aimed at Dads, who often have a key role in caring for their baby and are, in some cases, the primary carer.

Follow The Lullaby Trust on Twitter or Facebook to access lots of useful information.

This week in particular you'll find infographics about how to reduce the likelihood of SIDS when putting your baby down to sleep (always on their back in a clear cot or sleep space), tips to set up your baby's sleep space, advice not to fall asleep on the sofa with your baby and top tips for car journeys.

There's also a safer sleep quiz on their website with 7 questions to test your knowledge.

Free Baby Check app

The Lullaby Trust have also created a Baby Check app which has 19 simple checks to help parents test for different signs of illness and decide whether their baby needs a doctor. Download 'Baby Check' free of charge from Google play or the App Store.
